It’s one of the most sought-after seaside destinations on the East Coast. The place is Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR), and soon there will be a new way for Ohioans to get there.

On May 22, Southern Skyways plans to begin twice-weekly seasonal jet service from fast-growing Akron/Canton (CAK) Airport to Myrtle Beach. Flights will be on Thursdays and Sundays, with airfares ranging from $79 to 129 each way – exclusive of taxes and fees.

To peak your interest, and encourage families to consider the new service, Southern Skyways (which, by the way, is classed as a “public charter” airline) will let kids 12 and under fly for free, when traveling with an adult. To get in on this family-friendly deal book by February 29.

To keep things simple, Southern Skyways says it offers seat assignments, and requires neither an advance purchase, round-trip ticketing, nor a Saturday-night stay. That injects some real flexibility into flying, especially when traveling with the family.
