To celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Continental Airlines’ use of Newark Liberty International Airport as its Global Gateway hub, the airline was commended by New York tourism organization NYC & Company.

George Fertitta, Chief Executive of NYC & Company, said: “Continental’s hub at Newark Liberty International Airport is an important gateway for international visitors accessing New York City. “With more than 430 daily flights and services to 160 destinations nonstop, Continental’s impact on the city’s tourism economy is truly remarkable.”

Fertitta added that NYC & Company hopes to work with Continental to help achieve the goal of 50 million visitors a year by 2015.

Flights from Newark are operated by several other major carriers including Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, and US Airways.
