Road trips don’t have to be boring, especially when you’re exploring some of America’s most beautiful spots. Pack the car, grab your road trip playlist and enjoy six of America’s most beautiful drives.

Blue Ridge Parkway

Dubbed America’s favorite drive, Blue Ridge Parkway roams through the Carolinas and Virginia, hitting treasures like Shenandoah National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park along the way. The drive offers views of dramatic cliffs, rolling green hills, lakes and some of the area’s highest mountains. Blue Ridge Parkway is especially beautiful during the fall, when the drive erupts with color.

Going-to-the-Sun Road

This two-hour drive through Montana is one of the most popular summer and fall treks, thanks to the alpine forests, glaciers and wildflowers that line the drive. During your drive through Glacier National Park, plan for plenty of pit stops so you can see the Continental Divide, Lake Avalanche and the stunning panoramic views that make this one of America’s most stunning roads.

Pacific Coast Highway

There’s no better way to enjoy California’s coast than with a leisurely drive up PCH, or the Pacific Coast Highway. This waterside road runs from Orange County to Mendocino County, offering idyllic ocean views of Big Sur, Santa Barbara and Monterey, to name a few. Spend a day navigating the twists and turns — the palm trees turn to pines as you make your way up PCH.

Florida Overseas Highway

This beautiful Florida drive takes you – quite literally – over the Florida Keys. The chain of bridges seems to float right over Florida’s coast, leading you eventually to the scenic isle of Key West. This highway is best known for its sweeping views of the turquoise and green waters that stretch out as far as the eye can see.

Highway 12

Utah’s Highway 12 is defined by its striking views of the red rocks of Bryce Canyon. This all-American road is filled with views of towering rock formations, canyons and rivers, and over-the-road arches add a bit of excitement to the road trip experience.

San Juan Skyway

Colorado’s San Juan Skyway offers views of everything from mountain tops to ancient ruins along the 233-mile route. As you wander through the Rockies, you’ll spot wildflowers and waterfalls between quaint mountain towns like Telluride, Ouray and Silverton. For a full experience, stop off to enjoy some of the hot springs, hiking trails and historic towns along the way.
