We all love vacations but we love some vacation moments more than others. What are the highlights? The low lights? What questions stress us out? Those are some of the questions we set out to answer in our latest Travel Habits survey.

Read on to see when we are the most excited (spoiler alert: it’s when we hit the beach or the slopes or whatever it is we’ve come to do), when we are at the pinnacle of vacation – relaxed and excited all at the same time – and when our getaway bliss begins to fade away.

We call this survey, which is based on responses from 1,132 Americans, our American Travel Pulse as it captures the emotional heartbeat of the nation’s vacations.

See how it compares with yours.
