Summer is quickly coming to an end and fall is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late for a getaway. If you’re looking for a little vacation inspiration, here are five great destinations to consider.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

While this Southwest destination is getting a lot of tourist attention these days as the hometown of America’s favorite chemistry teacher turned kingpin, Albuquerque is much more than the desert setting for “Breaking Bad.” The fall months offer temps in the 60s and 70s, so you’re sure to be comfortable as you check out the fall foliage along the Rio Grande. October also brings the famed Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and hundreds of hot air balloons to Albuquerque’s skies. And for you “Breaking Bad” fans, you can get your fix of Walter White’s Albuquerque on the BaD Tour by ABQ Trolley Co. (Take a look at the rest of our Top 10 trips for TV lovers.)

Seattle, Washington

Come fall, the summer crowds that flock to Seattle’s main attractions are blissfully gone – but the moderate weather remains early in the season. During a fall getaway to The Emerald City, you can enjoy everything from fresh seafood at Pike Place Market to sweeping city views from atop the Space Needle. Through Sept. 22, you can also get your fill of deep fried delights, rides and lantern shows at the annual Washington State Fair in Puyallup.

Miami, Florida

Summer might be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep playing on the beach. At least, that’s the belief you’ll find in Miami, where fall will still see beach-friendly temps in the 70s and 80s. With warm sunny weather setting the tone for your fall getaway, you can soak up the rays on the shore, enjoy the city’s historic Art Deco properties and indulge in a bit of South Beach’s notorious nightlife.

Savannah, Georgia

The South’s most haunted city is best experienced around Halloween, when Savannah pulls out all the stops to live up to its spooky reputation. A trip to Savannah in the fall should include a few cemetery visits and ghost tours, to be sure. You can also enjoy the public squares and a walk along River Street while the weather is still comfortable.

Providence, Rhode Island

It’s simply not fall without some leaf peeping, and you’ll find some of the most brilliant foliage in the rural areas surrounding Providence, Rhode Island. In town, local parks and green spaces also light up with spectacular colors as the leaves change to orange, yellow and red for fall.
