Getting into Town

Taxi: Taxis are available on the lower level outside baggage reclaim from RDU Airport Taxi Service (tel: 919 840-7277).

Limousine: A number of companies operate from the airport to Raleigh, Durham and other destinations.

Bus: An airport shuttle leaves from the baggage reclaim areas and delivers passengers to businesses and universities in the area. Triangle Transit Authority (tel: 919 549-9999) offers transport to its Research Triangle Park bus depot, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh.

Car Parking

There are hourly and daily parking garages and two Park and Ride parking lots (tel: 919 840-2140) with courtesy bus services to the terminals. A further two Park & Ride lots are used for overflow parking. Travellers are advised to follow the electronic signs informing drivers of the nearest available parking lots. Information Desks

Information desks (tel: 919 840-2123) are located in the baggage reclaim area of both terminals. Visitor services representatives and volunteers are available throughout the day to answer passenger and visitor questions. Tourist information is also available at the information desks.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: Bureaux de change and ATMs are available.

Eating and drinking: There are numerous restaurants and cafés at the airport.

Shopping: The airport has a variety of shops in both terminals.

Luggage: A lost property service is available from the RDU Airport Authority Police Department office (tel: 919 840-7550).

Other facilities: These include a meditation area and family restrooms with infant changing facilities.

Airport Disabled Facilities

All toilets, parking lots and shuttles are wheelchair-accessible, with spaces reserved in all parking lots. The terminal is fully accessible, with lifts connecting all areas. TTY telephones are available throughout each terminal. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.

Airport Conference and Business Facilities

Business services, including conference room rental, can be arranged through Travelex (tel: 919 840-0366). Fax, notary and photocopying services are available in the RDU Business Centers in both terminals. Data ports are available in both terminals and in all airline club lounges. In addition, Wi-Fi service is available throughout the airport and allows travelers in all areas of the airport to have un-tethered, high-speed wireless access to the Internet using laptop computers and other wireless devices.

Driving Directions

The airport is located at the mid-point between Raleigh and Durham, off I-40 and US 70. From Raleigh, take I-40 west to exit 285 (Aviation Parkway). From Durham, take I-40 east to exit 284B.

Car Rentals

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty and Triangle are all located at the airport; shuttles transport passengers from outside the Arrivals areas to the pick-up areas.
