Airport ambiance matters – the look and the feel; the restaurants and the resting places. Now comes word that ambiance just got a boost at Nashville International Airport (BNA).

The airport just finished Phase I of a major makeover, the first interior renovation in the 22-year history of Nashville’s existing terminal building, which opened back in 1987. Since the re-work began in October 2006, Nashville flyers have seen a new, more efficient security checkpoint; lighter, airier concourses; and more than 30 new places to eat and shop.

To underscore the apparent success of all this, Nashville International recently won a slew of honors from Airport Revenue News. Among them: Best Concessions Management, Airport with the Best Customer Service, and Airport with he Most Unique Services.

This Cheapflights reporter frequents BNA often, and the transformation has been profound.
