The world's economic slump doesn’t seem to be slowing down ever-expansive Middle Eastern carriers.

Etihad Airways announced new Chicago O'Hare flights to Abu Dhabi (AUH). The non-stop Chicago flights via an A340-500 is set to take wing Sept. 2.

The four-engine Airbuses Etihad fields on the route will be fitted for three classes of service: First, Business, and Economy.

Initially, there will be a trio of weekly nonstops. The carrier intends to make the run a daily affair beginning October 1.
