Brisbane Airport, in southeast Queensland, was the winner of the “best privatized airport of the year” award in 2005, by IATA. It is owned by the Brisbane Airport Corporation. The three terminals serve domestic, international, and cargo flights. An expansion is currently planned to introduce parallel runways.

Rail: The Airtrain (tel: +61 (0)7 3216 3308; Web site: www.airtrain.com.au) provides services to Brisbane Central Station (journey time: 22 minutes) and to the Gold Coast. Airtrain stations are located directly outside the Domestic and International terminals.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available; companies include Black & White Cabs (tel: 131 998; Web site: www.blackandwhitecabs.com.au) and Yellow Cabs (tel: 132 227 or +61 (0)7 3391 5955; Web site: www.yellowcab.com.au). The taxi ranks are situated at both Qantas and Virgin Blue ends of the Domestic Terminal and outside Arrivals, on the second level of the International Terminal.
Limousine: Limousines are also available; contact the Visitors Information Center (tel: +61 (0)7 3406 3190) for more information. Bus: Airport buses are available from both terminals to Brisbane Transit Center in Roma Street, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. A door-to-door service is also provided. Money and communications: The International Terminal has bureau de change facilities and ATMs on levels 2, 3 and 4. The Domestic Terminal has bureau de change facilities on level 2. Pay phones are located throughout both terminals.
Eating and drinking: There are plenty of cafés and bars at the airport.
Shopping: A wide range of shops are available, with duty-free located in the International Terminal. A pre-order and pick-up service is available (tel: +61 1800 814 023).
Luggage: Lost property offices are located in both the International and Domestic terminals. There are no luggage storage facilities at the airport, due to security requirements.
Other facilities: There is a first aid room, baby change rooms and a non-denominational prayer room in the International Terminal. Showers are available in both terminals.

There is ramped and elevator access to all floors, wheelchair-accessible toilets, and shops and dining areas designed for disabled people in the International Terminal. Disabled parking spaces and wheelchair set-downs area available too.

A Qantas Club Lounge (tel: +61 (0)7 3867 3400) and The Blue Room (tel: +61 (0)7 3114 7122), operated by Virgin Blue, are located in the Domestic Terminal.
