There are a million reasons to book a flight to Thailand – the epic history, the unique food, customs and culture, and of course, the beaches. But now there’s an added perk for travelers who want to stay connected – the Suvarnamhumi International Airport in Bangkok has added free wireless this week.

In direct competition to neighbors, Hong Kong, which added wireless in 2006, and Singapore, which added it in 2008, Bangkok’s busy airport will now appease business travelers and other individuals who want to check email, browse the internet, or keep up with social media.

All you have to do it present your boarding pass to any one of the airport information centers within your area, obtain a user name and a password, and get going. Earlier this year, Suvarnamhumi International Airport built kiosks that allowed people without laptops to access the internet through built-in computers. There is also paid service offered outside departure areas.

Other upgrades for the airport include a $4.4 million refurbishment of restrooms, upgrades to security, improved signage, and more comfortable and attractive waiting areas.
