KLM Check-in
It’s recommended to check in two hours before departure. Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure for flights within Europe. For international flights, desks close one hour before departure.
You can also check-in online or on your mobile phone.
KLM baggage allowance
Carry-on: One carry-on item is allowed, no larger than 22in x 14in x 13in and no heavier than 26lbs as well as a personal item.
Checked: For flights to Canada and the US, the first bag is free, weighing no more than 50.5lbs and with dimensions no more than 62 linear inches. Second bag charges are €55 and third and fourth are €200. See website for exceptions.
Excess: Excess charges are applied to a second piece of luggage: $75. Each piece of luggage after that will cost $200 each. Overweight bags - between 50lbs and 70lbs - carry a fee of $75. For a piece of luggage weighing more than 70lbs, the fee is $300. Oversized bags – between 62in and 118in – carry a charge of $300.

Seats can be reserved when you make your booking online or seats will be assigned at check-in.
Passenger change details
Name changes are not allowed. Flight changes depend on ticket type and must be made by calling the reservations number or going online. An administrative fee will apply.
Child fares
There are no child fares available, but children under two may travel on an adult’s lap.

Pets
Only small cats and dogs weighing no more than 13lbs (including bag or kennel) can travel in the cabin with you. You need to make a reservation for your pet at least 48 hours in advance. It costs $200 each way.
Carrying musical instruments
Standard baggage allowances apply. A separate seat can be purchased for a large or fragile instrument instead of checking it.
In-flight service
Meals will be provided depending on departure time and duration of the flight. Special dietary requirement meals can be requested up to 36 hours before the departure of an inter-continental flight by calling the reservations center, including vegetarian meals, children's meals, special medical diets and meals for religious groups. An a la carte menu is available for purchase at time of booking. All passengers have their own personal monitor with access to movies, TV shows, music, games and audio books.
Air miles
The frequent flier program Flying Blue allows you to collect air miles with KLM, and more than 100 other airline and on-the-ground partners. Special benefits include a minimum of 500 awards on domestic flights and 750 awards on international flights, regardless of the distance covered.

KLM, the national airline of the Netherlands, joined with Air France in 2004 to create Air France-KLM, Each airline continues to operate under its own brand. KLM operates its hub out of Amsterdam Schiphol and serves more than 90 destinations. It’s the oldest airline still operating under its original name.
