Competition Terms and Conditions
1. General
1.1. No purchase necessary.
1.2. Entry to the competition is conditional on acceptance of these terms and conditions. By entering you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms.
1.3. The promoter of this competition is Cheapflights, Momondo Group, Control Tower, One Alfred Place, London, WC1E 7EB, United Kingdom (the “Promoter”).
2. Conditions of Entry and Eligibility
2.1. In order to enter, you must correctly answer our trivia question on Facebook and comment with your answer on our Cheapflights Facebook post from your Facebook account. It is not compulsory to share the competition on Facebook or Twitter to enter the competition.
2.2. Tagging a friend’s Facebook account in your comment is an optional function of the competition. By doing so, the entrant is automatically eligible to receive a second plane ticket if chosen as the winner.
2.3 There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries from the same Facebook account will be deemed void and will not be accepted.
2.4. The Promoter is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries that are late, lost, misdirected, or destroyed.
2.5. This competition is open to all residents of Washington, D.C and Baltimore, Maryland (and surrounding areas within a 25 mile radius) aged 21 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner), its agents, or anyone professionally associated with the competition are not eligible to enter the competition. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.
2.6. This competition is open to all residents of Washington, D.C, USA and Baltimore, Maryland, USA (and surrounding areas within a 25 mile radius of each city) aged 21 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner), its agents, or anyone professionally associated with the competition are not eligible to enter the competition. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.
3. The Prize:
3.1. There will be one (1) prize awarded. The prize cannot be exchanged for money. The prize is one round-trip flight (up to a value of £200 GBP) to Las Vegas, Nevada, from Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) for travel departing Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 and returning Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.
3.2. It is not compulsory for the entrant to share the competition to Facebook or Twitter to enter the competition.
3.3. The competition winner is solely responsible for any and all other costs or expenses associated with the prize that are not specifically included in these Terms & Conditions, including, but not limited to, additional accommodation fees, transport to and from the respective airports, meal costs, spending money, insurance and all other incidentals.
3.4. The Promoter holds no responsibility or liability for the winner (or accompanying passengers). Insurance is not included in the prize. The Promoter strongly advises the winner to take out comprehensive travel insurance for their trip. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any flight cancellations and, therefore, advises the winner to ensure cancellation is included in their travel insurance.
3.5. Prize selection is based on availability. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the specifications of the prize, or offer an alternate prize of equal or greater value, at any time before the competition closes. The competition winner is solely responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, including valid passports and visas.
3.6. The prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-refundable, non-transferable and is not convertible to cash.
3.7. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Competition Closing Date.
4. Selection of Winner
4.1. The prize draw will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at approximately 10 a.m. EST. The Promoter will select one winner from all eligible entries. The final winner will be selected at random using a random prize draw generator. The prize has been made available for distribution.
4.2 The selected entrant will be contacted via Facebook message on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.
4.3. The prize must be accepted within one (1) day of receipt of the Facebook message referred to in clause 4.2 above. In the event of non-reply, a supplementary entrant may be selected by draw at the Promoter’s discretion.
4.4. The prize winner may be required to participate in publicity accompanying or resulting from this competition. By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your name, city of residence, video image and/or photograph in any related publicity or online posting without compensation.
4.5. The Promoter reserves the right to modify, amend, terminate or withdraw this competition at any time, with no obligation or liability, subject to any applicable law.
4.6. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoter shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into
4.7. This competition is promoted across other websites.
5. Other
5.1. All entries become the property of the Promoter upon receipt and will not be returned.
5.2 The Promoter assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries, for any failure of the website during the competition period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating and entering in the competition.
5.3 Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this competition is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Promoter reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
5.4 Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically produced, mutilated, forged, falsified, plagiarized, altered or tampered with in any way.
5.5. For the name of the prize winner, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope marked Inauguration Day Getaway, Cheapflights, Momondo Group, Control Tower, One Alfred Place, London, WC1E 7EB. No entries should be sent to this address.
5.6. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the competition and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
5.7. The Promoter has organised this competition in good faith and does not accept liability relating to the prize.
