Cheap Los Angeles Hotels

La-La Land boasts some of the biggest names in hotels, restaurants, and of course, celebrities. While this famed city has much to offer by way of trendy nightclubs and superstar establishments, areas off the beaten path do exist. If you’re looking for a hotel in Los Angeles close enough to the festivities, but far enough away so you can sleep without the wave of nightly bar hoppers waking you, then head to the outer skirts of Santa Monica and Pasadena. For more touristy avenues, check out Los Angeles hotels in Hollywood, Universal City, and Beverly Hills (and bring your camera). Budget-minded travelers who don’t mind working a little to get from here to there can find cheap Los Angeles hotels in Downtown.

Santa Monica: Not all of LA is in the limelight. Los Angeles hotels can be quietly serene too, and still within arm’s reach of the noise. For the best of both worlds, book a Santa Monica hotel for a laid-back Los Angeles experience. Beaches, amusements, dining, and shopping are all easily accessible, and nearby Venice brings a certain quality of people-watching that rival’s some of LA’s best hotspots. Santa Monica is about a 30-minute drive from the heart of LA (without traffic).

Westside and Beverly Hills: Can’t you just hear the electric guitar notes of the 90210 theme song now? People of all ages dripping in wealth, reveling in (or starving for) fame, and broad sidewalks full of notable fashion makes the Westside of the city a zoo of luxury. If you can’t wait to be among the rich and filthy, then book your Los Angeles hotel in Beverly Hills. You’ll need to hunt around for deals at some of these high-end luxury resorts and high rises, but cheap rates for Los Angeles hotels do exist. While you might not be invited to the lavish pads of the stars, you can still enjoy the upscale dining, glamorous lounging, and jaw-dropping shopping that are around just about every corner.

Hollywood: Hollywood, although torn down and rebuilt more than Lindsay Lohan, remains a relatively safe and clean reputation as of late. That’s all subject to change (along with the careers of the mighty and fallen) but it’s easier than you think to find mid-priced hotels in Los Angeles if you’re looking in the Hollywood area. The gentrified part of the city is easily accessible to the freeway, making Universal Studios and other tourist attractions readily available. If you’re looking to get away from the touristy buzz stay away from Hollywood hotels, but if you’re visiting California for all the main events, book a Hollywood hotel and get ready to party.

Downtown: Before the 1990’s, downtown Los Angeles was well-known but not necessarily well-liked. After a huge clean-up and the insertion of cultural attractions and trendy restaurants, this area has earned its stripes. Since the area caters to business travelers, you can usually find cheap rates at luxury Los Angeles hotels in the downtown district, especially for those on a weekend getaways. Somewhat quiet compared to the rhythm of Venice Beach or West Hollywood, you can still hop on the Metro Line and join the party in no time. This is a great spot for budget travelers looking for a cheap Los Angeles hotel that’s a little removed, but still close enough to all the fun.

Universal City: The on-screen talent that lights up living rooms around the country on a daily basis can be found in Universal City. Los Angeles hotels in and around Universal City gives travelers the feeling of being close to stardom while still perfectly situated near the area’s top attractions. The Hilton Universal City and the Sheraton Universal are only a short walk (or shuttle ride, if you prefer) to the park.

Pasadena: Pasadena is pleasantly removed from the tantrums of the fame-crazed LA. Just east of downtown, Los Angeles hotels in Pasadena are well-taken care of, and boast beautiful architecture. While not exactly a prime spot for beach days and club nights, Pasadena does possess its own charm with local dining and shopping options that steer away from the trendier set. Its proximity to the freeway and the access to the Metro Gold Line mean travelers can get to the heart of West Hollywood and the other happening nearby neighborhoods.
