AirTran Airways Check-in

Passengers may check-in online within 24 hours of their departure time. AirTran Airways recommends passengers check in at least 60 minutes prior to their scheduled departure, and 90 minutes before if checking bags.

Customers arriving at the AirTran Airways gate less than 10 minutes before scheduled departure will be considered a “no show” and will forfeit their reservation. If so, AirTran Airways will not be responsible for denied boarding compensation.

AirTran Airways baggage allowance

Carry-on: All customers are restricted to one carry-on item and one personal item. No carry-on item may exceed linear dimensions (height + length + width) of 50in and must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

Checked: The cost of the first bag is $20 and the cost of the second bag is $25. Both should weigh no more than 50lbs and should be no bigger than 62in.

The excess baggage charge will be $50 for each piece for your 3rd through 9th checked bag and any bag or item after that will cost $110 per piece. Overweight and oversized items will be accepted for $50 per piece, provided there is space available.
