Airline Overview

Aer Arann was established in 1970 to provide reliable and inexpensive air service to approximately 1,000 islanders located off the west coast of Ireland. As time progressed the airline expanded its services with the introduction of the Dublin – Galway route. Fueled by it’s own success, Aer Arann continued to grow and was soon recognized as Ireland’s Regional Airline, linking regional airports to major Irish hubs.

In 2002 Aer Arann launched it’s inaugural flight from Cork – Birmingham establishing it’s first route out of Ireland. Shortly after it made it’s first steps into continental Europe.

Aer Lingus and Aer Arann established a franchise agreement in 2010. After proving to be a successful partnership Aer Arann and Aer Lingus announced the further expansion of the franchise agreement, which saw Aer Arann operate all routes under the Aer Lingus Regional brand.
