When to Fly to Whistler

Whether you’re hitting the slopes or relaxing at an open-air spa in the warming winds of summer, there’s no wrong time to book a flight to Whistler. 

Peak Season: 

Flights to Whistler are packed during the winter holiday season, when the resort town is abuzz and the snow makes for excellent winter sport conditions. Ski fever sticks around Whistler through the end of February, so if you plan on joining the slew of ski fanatics on the slopes, book your Whistler flights and accommodations months in advance. 

Off-Peak Season: 

Whistler is first and foremost a winter holiday destination, but the resort town offers infinite outdoor sports and leisure activities. Cheap flights to Whistler are far easier to come by in the summer and fall. Take advantage of the opportunities available to go sailing, horseback riding, and kayaking. If your heart is set on skiing Whistler’s famed slopes, try booking a Whistler cheap flight for late winter and early spring: The resort empties out a bit in March and April leaving the ski resorts to the locals, so take advantage of the lull in season for a relaxing ski holiday.

• In 2003, Ski Magazine voted Whistler the number one ski resort in North America, and it’s easy to see why: Between Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain, exceptional four-season slopes are available for glacier, alpine, downhill, cross-country and heli-skiing which keep ski bums booking return flights to Whistler. 
• Whistler has been selected as the host for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (along with Vancouver). Whistler will host all slopeside events, including alpine, cross country and Nordic skiing, as well as sliding (bobsled, luge and skeleton events). Nearby Vancouver will host all arena events, such as ice hockey and figure skating, as well as snowboarding. It’s still too early to book your flight to Whistler for the 2010 Winter Games, but keep the Olympic excitement in mind when it comes to planning future winter getaways! 
• Looking for something to do off the slopes? Whistler plays host to several cultural events and performances to keep visitors entertained. November hosts Cornucopia, Whistler’s annual wine and food festival. The month long Whistler Winter Arts Festival takes place each February and dazzles audiences with performances, premieres and exhibitions of music, film, art and dance.
