Reasons to fly to Puerto Pollensa

Much more sedate and reclusive than it's neighboring resort towns, Puerto Pollensa is a haven for families and couples looking for a little quiet time in Mallorca. Set against the Boquer mountains and the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, Puerto Pollensa offers visitors a bit of peace and quiet on the Spanish coast. The town is populated with all-inclusive hotels, villas and family-owned homes and condominiums. Travelers booking flights to Puerto Pollensa arrive in Mallorca where rental cars are available for the drive through the northeast coast. Once there, Puerto Pollensa vacationers relax in cafes, restaurants, open-air markets and shop the famous promenade that hosts small boutiques and sidewalk vendors. Of course, no day in Puerto Pollensa is complete with a walk on the beach or some time basking in the sun.

Puerto Pollensa Travel Information

  • Grab flights to Puerto Pollensa or sail from a neighboring island for one of the town's festival. The queen of Spain is the patron of the classical musical festival held every year in the cloisters and the town hall.  For a little more action, take in the street festival in August when the Moors and the Christians battle it out over 24 hours with bands, processions and fireworks
  • Buy your fruit at the Sunday morning market and then join the locals in the little terrace outside Café Espanol. This is a beautiful town, and you can watch the artists at work or get out your own sketchbook or camera.
  • Hotel Formentor near the beach of Formentor was Mallorca’s first luxury hotel when it opened in 1929.  An EU summit was held here in 1995 and it has been visited by many including Charlie Chaplin, Grace Kelly and Aristotle Onassis.
