Nairobi National Park and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
Journey to Kenya’s first national park where the buffalo – as well as zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, rhino and lions – roam. Just 7km away from the city’s center, Nairobi National Park has protected this area of plains and wild bush since 1946. When you’ve finished photographing all of the species you can in this well-kept preserve, visit the Animal Orphanage and take a stroll on the Safari Walk in the Educational Center. The nearby Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage cares for baby elephants and rhinos left orphaned by poachers before releasing them into Tsavo National Park. Watch the babies frolic in the mud and drink from bottles every morning.
