Fort

A remnant from years of British rule, the Fort is composed of several Gothic Victorian buildings, much like those you would see in London or Glasgow. Highlights include the Victoria Terminus, an enormous Italian Gothic railway station that looks more like a decorated cathedral than a train station, and Saint Thomas’ Cathedral, which was completed in 1718. Magnificent decorations such as carved animals and memorials from colonial times adorn both buildings. Horniman Circle, a lush garden surrounded by arcaded terraces, is the center of the Fort, which offers a great escape from the chaotic city outside.
