Tivoli Gardens
This famous city park in the central Copenhagen is also one of the world’s best entertainment centers. Each year more than 3 million people pass through Tivoli Gardens during the five-month summer season. The gardens first opened in 1843, when Tivoli Lake was a moat surrounding the fortified city. The lake now provides a spectacular mirror for the fireworks that explode overhead twice a week. One section of Tivoli Gardens contains miniature gardens with more than 100,000 beautiful blooms. The other half is a theme park with rides and arcades. If neither sound appealing to you, the concert hall and open-air stages have dozens of free performances like concerts, pantomimes and circus shows.
