Table Mountain
Enjoy breathtaking views from the top of Table Mountain, the famous flat-topped mountain that looms over Cape Town. This nature reserve is one of Cape Town’s most popular tourist attractions and is home to a diverse flower population and gorgeous scenery. Take the cable car up the mountain to wander through pathways and enjoy scenic outlooks. Stop at the mountain-top restaurant or gift shop if you need a break from nature. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb the mountain instead. Maps for the various routes are sold at the cable car station. Depending on the path and your fitness abilities, the climb can take anywhere between one and four hours. Hikers, especially those inexperienced, should be careful though: Cape Town is known to have sudden weather changes and you don’t want to ruin your vacation.
