Job Title: Production DBA

Reports to to: Production Operations Manager/ Director of Boston Technology Operations team
Key areas of responsibility:
Build, configuration and maintenance of all Production Database servers required for the Cheapflights Web site regional offerings. Ensuring all data backup and recovery requirements are met. Support of DB applications and tools deployed across Staging and Production environments.
DB Server Administration (Integrity, availability, monitoring etc)
DB Server builds and maintenance
DB Administration (Integrity, availability, log management)
DB Security
DB Application and tools support
DB Backup and Restore strategy
DB and DB Hardware sizing and specification
Providing advice and guidance on DB query optimizations
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Essential
- Windows 2003
- Active Directory(group policy configuration)
- SQL/Server 2000
- SQL/Server 2005
- VB Scripting
- RDP/server imaging
Desirable
- Perl
- Sharepoint
- Veritas backup solutions
- Hardware: SANS,HP servers and blade technology
Experience
DB infrastructure rollout and integration projects
24x7 Support of mission critical systems (min 12months)
Exposure to Data center environments
