Job title: Newsletter Designer

Responsibilities:
Create visual designs to meet business needs ranging from the regular weekly newsletter to segmented emails highlighting specific advertisers.
Create and revise landing pages in an effort to engage users by tying in email elements to site elements.
Build trigger email pages to engage and re-engage subscribers based on measured activity and travel interests.
Articulate and develop new page prototypes quickly for review by management and team members.
Work with US commercial team to understand market needs and respond with creative to meet marketing program needs.
Track results of designs so that future designs evolve to meet market needs.
Coordinate with UK team, as applicable, to ensure consistent brand and user experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 5+ years experience in creative email design and grounded in design fundamentals including composition, color theory, typography, identity systems and concept development.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, user interface essentials, interaction design, brand image management and style guide creation.
- Ability to design innovative new pages with full graphics
- Track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work creatively under tight deadlines.
- Relevant degree with a strong visual media element, e.g. fine art, visual design, graphics design, interactive design, information architecture or other related fields.
- Background in high volume/mass market web sites, e-commerce sites, or portal web sites.
Expert level knowledge of design tools and applications including:
- HTML, CSS
- Photoshop, Illustrator
- Understands the importance of web site performance, optimization and usability.
- Team player, self-starter, attention to detail, but able to see the big picture.
- Superior communication skills.
Desirable
- Familiarity with content management systems and email management systems.
- Understands email best practices, including CAN-SPAM compliance and ISP relationship building.
- Demonstrated interest in travel
