The airport also known as Sea-Tac is one of the best transpacific launchpads from the continental U.S. Considered very flyer-friendly, it is a hub for Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air. Getting into Town

Taxi: Taxis and limousines are available.

Bus: Gray Line Airport Express buses run to/from major Seattle hotels. Metro Transit buses run a 24-hour schedule to Seattle and regional destinations. A number of shuttle services run door-to-door services to Seattle and other Washington destinations.

Coach: Quick Shuttle buses run to destinations further afield, including Tacoma, Vancouver and Portland. The majority of taxis, limousines and shuttle buses leave from the Ground Transportation Center (tel: 206 431 5904), although some large buses leave from the baggage reclaim level.

Car Parking

The airport garage is connected to the Main Terminal via skybridges and offers short- and long-term parking. General parking is available on the top five floors of the garage and serves as the airport’s long-term parking area. Valet parking is available. Call the Parking Office for more information (tel: 206 433 5308).

Information Desks

Help desks are located in the main terminal. Assistance is available staff dressed in either red or blue carrying clipboards marked "Airport Information". A Washington State visitor information desk is located on the baggage reclaim level (tel: 206 433 5218). Operation Welcome (tel: 206 433 5367) assists international visitors; there is also a Japanese information desk on the baggage reclaim level.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: Bureaux de change, ATMs and Internet access are available.

Eating and drinking: Facilities at the airport include coffee shops, bars and a variety of self-service, full-service and fast-food restaurants.

Shopping: Shopping facilities include bookshops, gift shops and duty-free.

Luggage: Luggage facilities in the terminal building include a baggage and frozen storage service (Ken’s Baggage) in the reclaim area. There is a lost property office in the main terminal.

Other facilities: These include family toilets, massage and shoeshine, a pet relief area and a meditation room.

Airport Hotels

There are no hotels at the airport. Hotels within 3 miles of the airport include the Best Western Airport Executel (tel: 206 878 3300), Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center (tel: 206 244 4800), Holiday Inn Sea-Tac (tel: 206 248 1000), Seattle Marriott Sea-Tac (tel: 206 241 2000) and Radisson Hotel Seattle Airport (tel: 206 244 6666). Many of these hotels provide courtesy shuttle services from the airport.

Airport Disabled Facilities

The airport is equipped with elevators and ramps; airline staff can provide wheelchairs on request or the latter can be hired from Ken’s Baggage. Reserved parking spaces are available in the parking garage. There are disabled toilets, drinking fountains and telephones. Some 80 amplified phones for the hearing-impaired are located throughout the airport.

There is a Laptop Lane business center (tel: 206 835 4640) in the North Satellite, equipped with fax, Internet and copying facilities. Conference facilities are available at the Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center (tel: 206 244 4800).

Directions

From the north, take I-5 to exit 154B and drive west on State Route 518 to the airport exit. From the south, take I-5 to exit 154 and drive west on State Route 518 to the airport exit. From the east, take I-405, which turns into State Route 518, to the airport exit.

Car Rentals

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National offer pick-up and drop-off at the airport, on the first floor of the garage, while Advantage, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty provide courtesy shuttles to/from their off-site locations. All have information desks in the Arrivals area.
