Schoenefeld Airport, which served East Berlin in pre-unification Germany, is located 10 miles south of Berlin and is the the second largest of three airports to serve the German capital. Roughly two million passengers pass through the airport each year. Plans are underway to expand Schoenefeld to create a single, major airport serving Berlin at which time the other two airports, Tegel and Tempelhof, are expected to close. www.berlin-airport.de

Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the terminal.
Bus: Buses operate from outside each of the terminals to downtown Berlin, and there are two lines that serve the center of Berlin from the airport leaving from outside the main entrance of Terminal A every 10 minutes. The buses run to downtown Berlin, making an intermediate stop to link up with the city’s urban railway system.
Rail: Airport Express trains bound for the Berlin-Zoologischer Garten station in the city center depart from a station 500 yards (500 meters) from the terminals. Two bus lines also serve the airport,

There are a number of short- and long-term parking lots as well as a multi-level parking garage. Short-term parking is provided in lot P2 and long-term parking is in lots P1, P5, P6 and P11. The multi-level parking garage (P4) provides both short- and long-term rates.

Money and communications: ATMs, a bank, and bureau de change, and a post office are on the ground floor in Terminal A.
Eating and drinking: There are several restaurants and bars located on the second floor of Terminal A and in Terminal B including the Meeting Point on the ground floor of Terminal B and the Movenpick Bars.
Shopping: There are various shops including a shopping center offering food and drinks, sweets, tobacco, newspapers, flowers, toys and eyeglasses.
Luggage: Lost and found offices are location in Terminal A (Tel.: +49 30 6091-6038).
Other facilities: There is a 24-hour first aid service and baby changing facilities.
