Getting into Town

Road: Taxis are the easiest and safest way to travel from the airport to the city. Choose one of the yellow taxis outside the terminal (upstairs, outside the departure lounge), check the driver’s ID, then tell him where you are going and agree on a fee before setting off.

A highway links Murtala Muhammed Airport with the city center. The journey takes 30-60 minutes depending on the traffic.

Please note that fuel shortages often occur in Nigeria, so ensure you have enough petrol to complete your journey. Roads are in poor condition. Be vigilant when traveling on major roads, as robberies can, and do, happen. Avoid travel outside cities after dark.
