Airport Overview

Corfu Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport, usually shortened to Corfu International Airport and sometimes called Kerkyra, is the world’s chief access point to the beautiful Greek island of Corfu.

Flights to Corfu International Airport are mainly seasonal, with the overwhelming majority of traffic occurring between the months of April and October. If you’re looking to go on holiday during this period, be sure to book your flight to Corfu early.

Corfu International Airport is not much of an attraction in itself – though it is perfectly serviceable, and it is improving every day. Besides, what’s a mediocre airport experience going to matter once you step foot in the Old Town area of Corfu? Laid out by the Venetians in the 14th century, the district features narrow alleys, lined with multi-storied pastel-coloured buildings with red-tiled roofs – just begging to be photographed for the holiday scrapbook.

Terminal Transfer

Corfu International Airport has only one terminal.

Getting into Town

Only around 3km (1.8 miles) from downtown Corfu, your trip into the city from the airport will be over before you know it. It is obviously not recommended if you’re carrying heavy baggage, but if you’re travelling light – and you feel like doing something a little different to commemorate your entrance into Corfu – it is actually possible to walk into town from the airport. It’ll take you about 40 minutes.

Bus: There is also a public bus service available to get you into Corfu from the airport. Public Bus No. 2 (Kanoni-Mandouki Circula) makes regular trips into Corfu from the airport: on weekdays, every half an hour between 6am and 10pm; on Saturdays, every half an hour between 6:30am and 2:30pm; and on Sundays, every hour between 9:30am and 9:30pm. Tickets shouldn’t cost more than €2, and the trip will take 10 minutes.

Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the terminal building. Agree on a fare before getting in to the taxi – and don’t pay more than €6 for the 8-minute trip.

Car Parking

There is parking space available for 400 cars and 60 buses at Corfu International Airport (though only two disabled bays). Parking is free.

Information Desks

A prominent information desk is located in the centre of the terminal building.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: There is a Marfin Laiki Bank with foreign exchange counters, and an ATM located in the domestic departures lounge. There is also a post box, with a once-daily collection service.

Luggage: Queries about lost luggage should be directed to the airport’s information counter.

Conference and business: No business or conference facilities available.

Other facilities: Comprehensive medical centre, a meteorological service, tour operators and travel agents, and the Nausica VIP Lounge.

Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi available at the airport.
