Cancun International Airport is one of the Caribbean’s busiest airports. It is the gateway to the Mundo Maya. The airport has three terminals. The Main terminal is for domestic and international scheduled flights with airlines such as Iberia, American Airlines and AeroMexico while the FBO terminal is for charter flights and private aircraft. Terminal Transfer

An airport shuttle service runs between the main entrances to the terminals.

Getting into Town

Taxi: An official taxi company provides individual and group services from the airport. Taxis can be paid for at the airport just after the Arrivals hall.

Shuttle: Shuttles run door-to-door services to hotels in and around Cancun; it is possible and recommended to reserve a shuttle in advance, via the airport Web site.

Bus: There is a public shuttle service from the airport to Cancun and the Riviera Maya, making a number of stops at various hotels and towns. The shuttle leaves the airport when the bus is full and journey times can be lengthy. Tickets can be purchased at the desk in the baggage reclaim area.

Car Parking

One parking lot is available at Terminal 1 and one at Terminal 2; both are open 24 hours a day. Parking lots are patrolled by a security service.

Information Desks

An information booth is located at the main entrance to Terminal 2. There are airport representatives in both terminals, to provide information on the airport and the location of facilities. For information prior to travel, passengers should contact their airline, as there is no dedicated information telephone number for the airport. Alternatively, passengers can e-mail the airport.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: ATMs are located throughout the terminal buildings and there are bureaux de change in both terminal buildings. Post boxes are located at Terminal 1 in the FBO building and in Terminal 2 by the main entrance. There is a bank in Terminal 2.

Eating and drinking: The airport has a variety of fast-food outlets and restaurants.

Shopping: There are a variety of gift shops at the airport. Duty-free and a convenience store are available in Terminal 2.

Luggage: There are lockers available at the airport. Porters are available to help with luggage for a tip.

Other facilities: There is a beauty parlor and medical services in Terminal 2.

Airport Disabled Facilities

There are ramps at the airport where necessary and wheelchairs are available upon request. Toilets for disabled passengers are also available.

Airport Conference and Business Facilities

Meeting areas can be booked through Cancun Air (tel: +52 998 886 0183) at the FBO building next to the Terminal 1 building. The FBO building offers a lounge area, VIP room with a large table for meetings, Internet access and car-hire, and limousine and hotel booking services. There are VIP lounges and a business center in Terminal 2.
