Al Ain International Airport, northwest of the resort city of Al Ain, opened in 1994 and is Abu Dhabi’s second international airport – it complements Abu Dhabi International. Eight airlines operate out of the airport including Gulf Air, Pakistan International Airlines and Qatar Airways. An expansion program is currently underway. www.dcaauh.gov.ae

Taxi: Al Ghazal Taxis operates a fixed-rate service to the center of Al Ain.
Bus: Public buses to Al Ain serve the airport.

Money and communications: A bank and bureau de change, ATM and public telephones are located in the main terminal building.
Eating and drinking: There are two restaurants and a coffee shop; the self-service cafeteria is open 24 hours.
Shopping: There are also shops, including a duty-free complex.
Luggage: Trolleys are available in Arrivals, free of charge.
Other facilities: There is a medical center located in the main terminal building. There is a picnic area and children’s playground in the airport’s landscaped gardens.

There are no business or conference facilities at the airport; the nearest facilities are located in the city center hotels. The Al Ain Rotana (tel: +971 (0)3 751 5111) has two meeting rooms and a ballroom, which can accommodate up to 500 delegates. The Hilton International Al Ain (tel: +971 (0)3 768 6666) has a business and conference center, while the InterContinental Al Ain (tel: +971 (0)3 768 6686) has a fully equipped business center and conference rooms.
