Airport Overview

As the primary gateway into Argentina, Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) sees more than 8.5 million passengers per year. It’s 14 miles southwest of Buenos Aires, and is often referred to as Ezeiza International Airport after the suburb in which it’s located.

Terminal A handles international departures and arrivals, Terminal B is used exclusively by Aerolineas Argentinas, and Terminal C is for international departures and domestic arrivals and departures. There are no train stations, but it’s easy enough to get into the city by bus or taxi.

At the airport you can enjoy authentic Argentine cuisine or explore the large duty-free market place before relaxing in a spa or VIP lounge. Otherwise, you can always venture into the city. As the third-largest city in South America, Buenos Aires has lots to see and do. Depending on when you’re there, you might catch one of the fantastic festivals such as the Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente, the Buenos Aires Tango Festival, the South American Music Conference or La Rural.

Terminal Transfer

The terminals are within walking distance of each other.

Getting into Town

Bus: There are public and private bus services available. The public bus service runs from Terminal B only – turn left at the exit and you’ll find it quite easily. The trip is likely to take around one hour, and the bus leaves the airport every 45 minutes. A private bus company, Manuel Tienda Leon, runs from the airport every 30 minutes.

Taxis: There are municipal taxis available at the exits from both terminals. Unofficial taxis also operate around the airport, but don’t use these unless you’re familiar with the area and can speak Spanish.

Car Parking

There are both covered and open car parking areas available with no distinction between short-term and long-term parking. The parking lots are next to the terminals and are easy to find.

Information Desks

There are two information desks – a 24-hour desk in Terminal A, and one in Terminal B, which opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes after the last flight.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: A 24-hour bank operates in the arrivals area of Terminal A. There is a currency exchange office (Global Exchange) near the customs desk, although a better bet would be using the Banco de la Nación which gives better exchange rates. There are also ATMs located throughout the airport, and Internet access is available at the telephone booths throughout the terminals.

Luggage: A left-luggage service is located next to the information desk in Terminal A. There are also lockers which can be used in the arrivals area of Terminal A. There are luggage-wrapping facilities available and trolleys are available for a fee. Lost luggage queries are handled by the National Aeronautical Police.

Conference and business: The airport doesn’t have any conference centers, but there are VIP lounges in Terminal B specifically reserved for Business-Class passengers from various airlines and club members.

Other facilities: There are plenty of other facilities available, including pharmacies, a hair salon, a cigar lounge, a medical service center in Terminal A, a health and beauty spa, and a mobile phone hiring service.

Wi-Fi: There is Wi-Fi access available.

Shopping: You can find traditional Argentine wares at Pasiones Argentinas, books and CDs at LiberÍa Yenny, and a vast selection of excellent local wines at Bodegas Argentinas. The duty-free shop, InterBaires Free Shop, is unavoidable if flying out from the airport, as you have to walk right through it to reach the departures area. It’s a sprawling area, covering 35,000 square feet, and sells everything from designer clothing, sportswear and jewelry to cigars and cuts of local beef.

Food and drink: There’s enough of a choice when it comes to finding something to snack on to please almost everyone. If you’re in the mood for some fast food, there’s a McDonald’s, McCafe, or Natural Break (the healthier fast food option). If you’re looking for a proper sit-down meal, then you can choose between La Madeleine or La Pausa, which serves delicious Argentine cuisine. And if you’re looking for something sweet, try Persicco, which serves some of the best ice cream in Buenos Aires.
