Abu Dhabi International Airport opened in 1968 and has one terminal. The terminal is notable because it is satellite (or doughnut) shaped with telescopic boarding walkways, which cuts out the long walk through corridors. The airport houses 27 passenger airlines, serving 90 destinations and during the busy season around 5,000 passengers check-in to its terminal. www.dcaauh.gov.ae/index.htm
