Airline Overview
A regional UK no-frill airline, flybe is the largest scheduled airline at Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, the Channel Islands and Belfast City and flies from more than 20 UK airports to destinations in Britain and Europe as well as New York. It is also the UK's leading non-London-based airline, offering 101 routes from 40 airports in seven countries. In March 2007, flybe acquired BA Connect from British Airways; the additional routes made it the largest regional airline in Europe.
For domestic flights, the desk closes 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time with hold luggage and 20 minutes before scheduled departure for passengers with hand baggage only. For international flights, check-in closes 45 minutes before departure time with hand baggage and an hour earlier for those putting luggage in the hold.

Carry-on: 11lbs maximum for carry-on items, not exceeding 18 x 14 x 6 inches, plus a laptop.
Checked: All checked luggage is subject to a charge. For bags weighing up to 55lbs there is a charge of £6 ($12) each way if booked at the airport, or £3 ($6) each way if booked in advance online.
Excess: Charges are £5.50 ($11) per kg.

Seats can be booked online at time of check-in, by calling the customer services centre or at time of check-in. Advance reservations cost £16 for an extra legroom seat, or £8 for any other seat.

Changes are permitted up to two hours before departure for £25 ($50) per person per sector plus difference in fare paid and lowest available call center fare, changes can be made online or at the call center, with the exception of name changes which can only be made by telephone.

No child fares, but infants under two years and on a parent's lap can fly for 12 per cent of the adult fare on domestic routes.

Traveling with pets is limited to certain routes and permitted only on the BAe 146 aircraft.

Musical instruments can be carried on the aircraft in accordance the standard carry-on baggage allowances. Instruments which exceed carry-on allowances may be subject to flybe’s “exceptional item” policy including an additional transport charge pf £17.
