Airline Overview

Bmi's low-cost baby flies to popular European destinations from ten UK airports: Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Manchester and Newquay. Destination cities include Alicante, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Cork, Faro, Geneva, Knock, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Paris, Prague and Rome.

Check-in

Check-in desk closes 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time for all international flights and 30 minutes before departure for domestic and Ireland flights.

Online check-in is available for passengers travelling with hand luggage only. You can check-in from 24 hours until four hours before the scheduled flight departure. If checking-in online, you need to arrive at the boarding gate 40 minutes before the flight departs with your boarding pass.

Baggage

Carry-on: One item not exceeding dimensions of 22 x 16 x 8 inches is permitted, with no maximum weight, but passengers must be able to lift the bag into the overhead locker.

Checked: There is a fee for all checked bags. If reserved at time of booking, or online before traveling, each bag is charged £2.95 ($6) per one-way flight. If booked at the airport or at the customer call center, the charge is £6 ($12) per bag per one-way flight. There is a maximum allowance of five bags per passenger per flight, the total weight of all not exceeding 44lbs.

Excess: £5 ($10) per kg. The maximum weight of any one bag is 70lbs.

Pre-assigned Seating

Yes. You can reserve your seat while you are booking online for a small fee of £3.50 ($7), at the call centre for £6 ($12) or you will be allocated a seat at check-in. Seats with extra legroom can be booked for £12 ($24).

Passenger Change Details

Flight and / or route changes can be made online, at the customer call centre or at the airport for the return (inbound) leg only. The change fee varies. Changes made online are charged £20 per passenger per sector plus any difference in the cost of a new flight. Changes made by phone are charged £22.50 plus any difference in cost. Changes made at the airport for your return leg, there is no fee if the new return flight is earlier than the original flight, but a fixed fee of £35 if it is later.

Name changes can only be made by calling the customer service number and incur a fee of £30, plus any difference in the cost of the flight from time of booking to the time of the change.
