Emirates Airline, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, serves more than 90 destinations in the Middle East, Far East, Europe, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Asia-Pacific and North America. Its main hub is Dubai International Airport. The Emirates Group also owns several luxury hotels and resorts in Dubai.
Established in 1985, Emirates is owned entirely by the government of Dubai. The airline has expanded at a fast rate and today is responsible for more than half the flights out of Dubai Airport and runs a fleet of 110 planes.
Online check-in opens 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure and closes two hours before.
Check-in desks at the airport close 90 minutes before departure for those checking baggage into the hold or 60 minutes before departure for passengers with carry-on bags only.

Carry-on: One bag is permitted, not exceeding 15lbs weight or dimensions of 22 x 17 x 10 in.
Checked: For all flights to and from the United States and Canada, two bags are permitted each with maximum total linear dimensions of 62in (length + height + width) and maximum weight of 50lbs. For all other flights the maximum weight is 20kg per bag.
Excess: Charges depend on destination. No bags weighing more than 32kg will be carried.

Call the appropriate Emirates office to make changes to bookings. An administrative fee will apply, plus any difference in the cost of the new ticket. No name changes are permitted.

Child fare on some flights is about 80 per cent. The minimum age for unaccompanied children is five.

No pets can travel in the cabin, but they may be carried in the hold depending on the policy of the arrival country. To book pet travel call the airline in advance.

Musical instruments can be carried on Emirates flights in three different ways: In the hold as checked baggage; as cabin baggage; on extra seats in the cabin.

Complimentary hot meals and drinks are available on all flights. In-flight entertainment consists of on-demand video and television with more than 130 films, as well as sms, email and telephone facilities.
