Online check-in allows passengers to check-in up to 24 hours before the flight. Alternately, travelers can check-in using the self-service kiosk.
For domestic flights within the 50 U.S. states, passengers are required to check bags at least 30 minutes before departure (45 minutes in Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, Atlanta and Denver) and be checked-in and at the gate at least 15 minutes before departure.
For flights from San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport or St. Thomas Cyril E. King Airport, passengers are required to check bags at least 60 minutes before departure and be checked in and at the gate 45 minutes prior to departure. Delta Shuttle customers must complete baggage check- in at least 15 minutes before departure and be at the gate at least five minutes before departure for guaranteed seating.
For travel to/from Africa, Asia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, India, Latin America, Mexico, and South America (and all other points outside the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia), passengers must be checked in at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure and be at the departure gate and available for boarding at least 45 minutes before departure.
For travel to/from Bogota, Istanbul, Moscow and Nassau, check-in is three hours before departure.

Carry-on: One bag is permitted, weighing no more than 40lbs, with dimensions smaller than 45 linear in (length + width + height), plus a personal item.
Checked: Two bags are allowed per passenger, each weighing no more than 50lbs. Exceptions are for tickets purchased in Brazil, when the maximum weight is 70lbs, and flights to or from Key West and Marathon, Florida, when only one bag is permitted.
Excess: Oversized, overweight or extra bags will be charged a fee. This ranges from $50 to $100 and is dependent on the route.

A service fee may apply to change tickets once differences in fare are calculated. For travel within the 50 States, the fee is $75 for Delta flights. For travel outside the United States, the change fee is typically $200, but can vary based on location and type of fare. Changes are usually permitted only to the return portion of an international itinerary.

On domestic flights, infants under two years may travel if an adult holds the infant for take-off and landing. No more than two infants can be held for take- off and landing per row of seats. To ensure a seat with an FAA-approved child restraint you must pay for the seat. Children ages two and above are charged the applicable adult fare. On international flights all children must have a ticket , regardless of age. The price of the ticket varies according to whether you hold the child or purchase a seat. The fare for a lap child is approximately 10 per cent of the adult fare. If you choose to purchase a seat, the discount varies by country of origin, destination, season, and fare type. In some cases, no child discount is offered. Delta Shuttle offers special youth fares for anyone between the ages of 12 and 24.

Pets can travel in the cabin with passengers. Pets cannot be checked as baggage during summer months (May 15-September 15) because extreme heat during the summer months can put animals in a life-threatening situation.

On journeys of less than 450 miles, one snack item (cookies, crackers, raisins) is served. On journeys of between 450 and 1550 miles (between one and a half to three hours), a choice of one item from the snack basket (chips, peanuts, crackers or granola bar) is served. On flights of 1550 miles (three and a half hours or more), a snack and choice of one item from the snack basket are served.
