Airline Overview
British Mediterranean Airways, which trades under the name BMED, was formed in 1994 and started scheduled services with flights from London Heathrow to Beirut. Still based at Heathrow Airport, today the company operates flights to 16 destinations in Africa and Asia. The airline currently has a franchise agreement with British Airways and all flights operate under a BA code, however, bmi has recently acquired a 99 per cent stake in the airline and will operate all flights from the Winter 2007 timetable onwards.
Baggage allowance is the same as British Airways.
