Airline Overview

Aeromexico is Mexico's largest airline. From its hubs at Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Hermosillo, the airline offers more than 400 daily flights alone, or 750 together with Aerolitoral, to 63 destinations in Mexico, North America, South America, and Europe. It has been ranked the most punctual airline worldwide for 11 consecutive years.

Check-in

For international flights you must check in three hours prior to scheduled departure. For flights within Mexico, passengers with boarding pass and without baggage may check-in 30 minutes before the flight departs; with baggage, check-in is 60 minutes before the flight departs. Passengers without a boarding pass can check-in using a kiosk or at the check-in counter 60 minutes before the flight departs (excluding airports in Mexico City, Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana, where passengers must arrive 90 minutes before the flight).

Baggage

Carry-on: Limited to one piece, not exceeding 45 linear inches (114cm), provided it can be stowed under the seat or in the overhead compartment. Carry-on items must remain in the passenger's custody at all times. There are baggage-measuring facilities at check-in desks.

Checked: On domestic economy flights, the baggage allowance is 55lbs. On international flights the allowance is two pieces of baggage up to 140lbs, and whose linear dimensions (length + width + height) together do not exceed 62 inches (except for flights to Brazil).

Child Fares

Infants under two years old who use a seat, and children between age two and eleven, pay 67 per cent of an adult fare. The first infant under two seated on the lap of an adult travels free; additional infants are charged 67 per cent of an adult fare and are entitled to a seat.

Senior Fares

Available to INSEN (senior citizens' registration) card holders in Mexico. Senior citizens age 60 or older pay 90 per cent of standard fares. Contact the airline for discounts in other countries.

Pets

You may only travel with dogs, cats, and small caged birds which require a special permit from the authorities, vaccinations, and corresponding permits. Pets do not count toward the free baggage allowance and are only accepted in a cage, stowed in the baggage hold. Costs: domestic flights, $35; international flights, $100. Medically-justified service animals fly free of charge.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Musical instruments under 45 inches total area can be brought on board as a carry-on item. A separate seat can be purchased for a large instrument or it can be checked in the aircraft’s baggage compartment.

In-flight Service

Depending on the destination and duration of your flight, Aeromexico offers a range of dishes, a large variety of hot and cold beverages, as well as complimentary alcoholic drinks. Special meals can be requested before the flight; these include low-salt, diabetic, infant and Kosher menus. Call the reservations number below at least 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure time.
