Back to the 2008 Press Releases
BOSTON (November 4,2008) – San Francisco travelers have one piece of good news amidst all the foggy consumer reports: According to the latest Travelnomics report released by travel search engine Cheapflights.com, flights from San Francisco are some of the most affordable in the country. In “Travelnomics: The Travel Price Index,” flight prices from 30 U.S. markets are compared to the cost of living index in those cities. According to the Index, residents in the Golden Gate city will have no problem finding cheap departing San Francisco flights.
“Thanks to the numerous airlines with hubs in the San Francisco area, and the alternate airports options in the region, San Francisco flights are some of the most affordable in the country,” said Carl Schwartz, chief travel officer for Cheapflights.com.
The other cities ranking as the most affordable to fly from include Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York, and Chicago.
Cheapflights pulled San Francisco airfare deals from its database containing millions of cheap flight deals and hundreds of deals partners. The cost-of-living data is supplied by the Economic Research Institute.
