BOSTON ( November 4, 2008 ) – New York is a city of endless options, and now the Big Apple can add one more item to its offerings: cheap New York airline tickets. According to the latest Travelnomics report released today by travel search engine Cheapflights.com, New Yorkers will have an easier time finding cheap departing New York flights compared to the rest of the country. In “Travelnomics: The Travel Price Index,” flight prices from 30 U.S. markets are compared to the cost of living index in those cities. According to the Index, travelers looking to book flights from New York airports will find some of the cheapest airfares in the country.

“In a tough economy, it’s hard to find a good deal. But New Yorkers looking to plan a trip are lucky,” said Carl Schwartz, chief travel officer for Cheapflights.com. “Our index shows that airfares from New York are some of the most affordable in the country.”

The other cities ranking as the most affordable to fly from include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Chicago.
