According to the latest Travelnomics report released today by travel search engine Cheapflights.com, Dallas residents will have an easier time finding cheap departing Dallas flights, thanks to a decrease in the price of airline tickets. In “Travelnomics: The Travel Price Index,” flight prices from 30 U.S. markets are compared to the cost of living index in those cities. Dallas hit the index as one of the more affordable cities to fly from, signaling an opportunity for travelers to book now and save.

“Airfares are breaking the mold in Dallas. Our research shows that Dallas hosts some of the most affordable airfares in the country,” said Carl Schwartz, chief travel officer for Cheapflights.com. “Dallas residents who are looking for a break from the ‘big’ should book cheap Dallas airline tickets now.

The other cities ranking as the most affordable to fly from include New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Boston.

Cheapflights pulled Dallas airfare deals from its database containing millions of cheap flight deals and hundreds of deals partners. The cost-of-living data is supplied by the Economic Research Institute.
